Growing Girl

Two years has surely flown by and now that Vincent is here, Evelyn looks like a giant compared to him. She is getting smarter every single day. Her vocabulary shocks me, she speaks like an adult sometimes!

Before Vincent arrived we decided to put Evelyn in a Pre Pre-school. A good friend of mine brought my attention to this place in town where she dances, sings, crafts and enjoys the company of other kids. Jason goes with her every Friday from 9-11:30. He loves the alone time with her.
(It is so sweet watching them get ready for school)
Last Friday I was able to sneak in after a doctors appointment
(Melts my heart)

Evelyn is also asked to bring a toy to share with her classmates. After the first class Jason insisted we go get her a backpack since all the other kids had one. Sooo we marched through Target and found a wall of backpacks full of Minnie Mouse, Princess and Butterfly girly prints, we asked Evelyn to pick one out and she wanted NOTHING to do with those ones. Instead, she picked out a Cars backpack...Jason and I looked at each other and giggled a little. She is definitely our special little lady!

I obviously LOVE that Evelyn enjoys class so much but what I absolutely ADORE is the crafts she brings home to me. She is so proud of everything she creates!

Watching Evelyn grow up is bittersweet. Some days I wish all the growing up would just pause for a little while.

Vincent's Arrival

October 29, 2012 @ 7:36am

Sunday night I was feeling more exhausted than ever and decided to take 2 tablespoons of Castor Oil mixed with some Orange Juice around 10:30pm. I was told by a couple friends that this helps jump start labor so after about an hour researching the side effects on the internet I gave it a shot. I waited up for a half hour or so thinking it was going to work pretty quickly but nothing happened so I fell asleep. 2am rolled around and I started having contractions. I woke up Jason and suggested he call into work because we were going to have this baby, FINALLY.
Our plan was to stay home and labor as long as possible but an hour and a half into the the laboring my contractions were only 3 minutes apart and lasting almost an entire minute. Jason called my mom to come and keep an eye on Evelyn while we head to the hospital. The 15 minutes that it took for her to arrive seemed like an eternity!
We arrived at the hospital and got settled into our room around 4:15am. The nurse checked me and I was only at 3cm and the on call Doctor did not want to admit me. The nurse could see just how close my contractions were so she suggested we stay at the hospital for an hour or so and she would check me again. An hour later I was at 5cm and at that point was officially admitted.
6am I got an epidural and things went fairly quick from that point forward. My water broke while trying to sit up and the next thing I knew I was pushing.
15 or so pushes later Vincent was born @ 7:36!!!

Jason went to the waiting room and grabbed Evelyn so she could meet her little brother

The love she has for him is simply amazing...I am sitting here with tears in my eyes just thinking about it.

Jason was home for an entire week. I must say, "I AM the luckiest wife in the world!" He had cooked every single meal the entire week, went and ran errands, stayed up with me during most of the night time feedings while waking up early to take care of Evelyn the next morning so I could sleep in. Talk about a Superman!

We are blessed. Our family is complete and we are so excited for what life has in store for us!
