A Year Has Passed

How has a year gone by already!?

Being a mommy of two has proved to be more challenging then I ever imagined. It has also been the best time of my life. My family is my world (sometimes to the point where it consumes me and I need to step out and take a break). Luckily, the hubby is super supportive and allows me personal time without ever saying a word.

Lets see, what has happened in the past year? Some top highlights that come to mind:

  • We bought a house. What a crazy experience that was, really can't say we would buy the same house again. We bought a fixer and honestly wish we wouldn't have. It didn't save us any money. We still forked out another 10+ thousand in improvements and there is still a ton to do. Its a good first home though. Hoping to rent it out later down the road. For now, its in a great school district and literally within walking distance. I already imagine myself walking the kiddos to school. So many memories ahead

  • Evelyn started Pre-school and is soaring. She is so smart and loves to learn. Praying this sticks throughout the next 12+ years of school.

  • Vincent is a little man now. He weighs 4lbs less than Evelyn. My beast child :) He still eats a ton, all day, every day. He currently is cutting 5 teeth (lots of tears) We are all looking forward for those to pop out. Aside for all that, he is such a happy boy. Laughs, smiles and confident gibber jabber consume his day. I love it!

  • Jason recently got a promotion. He is now a "Working Foreman" he works too much. Way more then any man should have to work. He is currently working 6 days a week about 10 hours a day. Yesterday, he worked for 6am-10pm with no break (pretty sure that is ILLEGAL) Its getting old and very trying. I can't be upset with him though, he doesn't want to be there that much. I love my hard working man, he is such an amazing provider!

  • As for me, hmmmm. Well, I tried going back to work on the weekends (thinking it would help my sanity) but that didn't help at all. Granted it was SO nice getting out and having an adult conversation with people over a weekend but I would come home to a complete disaster, wasn't spending any time as a family and it was really hard on Jason. So, I had to leave. Started to go to a lot of playdates with the kids which was great for them but again, super hard for me to maintain a lifestyle that I am comfortable with.  Instead, we play with a small group of friends and once (or twice) a month this mommy enjoys the company of other kind, wonderful women (with no babies) We have a weekend away planned in a month and I am SO excited for that!

Current BIG event....Disneyland trip in 20 days!!!
